Countdown to Slimdown

On the eve of 3 months of marriage my husband approached me with the idea to slim down. We are starting back our gym and diet routine. No longer will we complain about how we've "gotten that happy weight". We are going to lose together as a family. I'm not terribly excited to start in the middle of the holidays, but I made a promise and I want to keep it.

Wait! I will keep the recipes coming (got a new one for spicy chesse biscuits, but moderation will be our guide.

Stay blessed!

G's Homemade Chili

Hello Friends,

Here's another recipe that the hubby just adored. Try it and tell me what you think!

G's Homemade Chili

1 pound lean ground chuck or beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 16 ounce can of pinto beans
1 16 ounce can tomato paste
1 1/2 cups of water
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
2 teaspoon of hotsauce

Brown meat first with onions over medium heat until you no longer see pink and then add remaining ingredients
Whole process should take around 25 minutes.

Thanksgiving and more

Hey Friends,
Here are a few pics from Thanksgiving and before I moved to Augusta from Birmingham:

Greek Marinade

This marinade is best for baking chicken.

Things you will need:

  • Food processor

  • Fresh Garlic Cloves

  • Lemons

  • Greek Olive Oil

  • Fresh Mint Leaves

  • Fresh Parsley Leaves

  • Brush (small, new paint brush to brush on marinade to chicken)

Clean chicken

Cut lemons and drain for lemon juice. Also, add the zest of the lemon to the mixer. Next pour content into food processor and include all other ingredients mentioned. Once the mixer is smooth, take your brush and input into mixer. Make sure that you have inserted several slics in the raw chicken in order for the flavor to go through meat evenly. Apply mixer to chicken and make sure it's applied evenly. Bake chicken as normal. ) Oven for 35-45 minutes on 350-425. Enjoy!

Raspberry Smoothies

Things you will need:

  • Blender
  • Vanilla Yogurt
  • Raspberry Sorbet
  • Cran-Raspberry Juice
  • Fresh Raspberries
  • Vodka

Add all ingredients except vodka in blender. If you prefer non-alcohol then leave the vodka out and enjoy! For all you booze lovers, add vodka after blending other ingredients. Only add enough vodka to smooth out the blend. 1/4 cup will do the trick. Tell me how you like it.
